Clean Food Group debuts CLEANOil™ at In-Cos Global
March 24, 2026
Today marks an exciting milestone for our partners Clean Food Group as they announce the official launch of CleanOil.
Our collaboration with Clean Food Group began with a shared ambition to explore how biotechnology could offer a more sustainable alternative to traditional oil systems used in cosmetic formulations.
At the outset, the focus was very much on potential: early-stage technology, strong sustainability credentials, but still needing to be proven in real formulation environments.
Our role at THG LABS was to help bridge that gap. Working closely with CFG, our Product Innovation team supported the translation of their fermentation technology into something the beauty industry could actually use. We validated performance and tested compatibility across formats to ensure it could meet the expectations of modern product development.

Over time, that collaboration has moved the ingredient beyond concept and into commercial readiness demonstrating sustainability benefits, but also the sensorial and functional performance brands require.
The latest step in that journey is the unveiling of CLEANOil™ at in-cosmetics Global in Paris (14–16 April 2026) with Clean Food Group showcasing their breakthrough biotech in the Innovation Zone. A featured in The Grocer magazine, it’s a moment that reflects what’s possible when biotechnology, formulation expertise and scale come together to deliver viable, next-generation ingredients.
Developed using CFG’s proprietary fermentation technology and circular feedstocks such as surplus bread, CLEANOil™ addresses multi-industry demand for high-performance ingredients with reduced environmental impact. The ingredient delivers the sensorial quality and functionality associated with premium oils - rich, silky, and naturally high in Omega 6 and 7 - while achieving a >95% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional agricultural oils.
Our Head of Product Innovation, Kristal Goodman, will be joining the team from Clean Food Group on 14th April at their Stand 2G44 in the Department for Business and Trade Pavilion, located in hall 7 level 2, where she’ll be on hand to share more about the partnership and our experience in formulating with CleanOil.
