This quarter marked another instalment of our long-running Monthly Masterclasses – an internal technical learning series that’s been running for an impressive 3.5 years. Spearheaded by Kirsty Gainey from our Technical team, these sessions bring together leading ingredient experts from across the industry to share insights, innovations, and practical applications that help upskill our teams and keep our knowledge fresh when it comes to formulating beauty products.

In April, we welcomed BASF Personal Care for a deep dive into emulsifiers – the unsung heroes that hold oil and water together while shaping texture, sensory feel, and overall performance.

May saw Lipoid Kosmetik AG and ProTec Ingredia take the floor to explore phospholipids – skin-loving molecules that hydrate, support the skin barrier, and boost active delivery, all while adding a silky, luxe feel to formulations.

And in June, Cornelius Group plc and SILAB explored the power of phytotensors – plant-based ingredients known for their firming and smoothing properties. With plenty of samples to test and technical insight to absorb, it was a hands-on session that truly smoothed things out.

With over three years of ongoing learning and collaboration, our Monthly Masterclasses remain a standout part of our internal development culture. We’re grateful to Kirsty for continuing to keep our calendars (and curiosity) so brilliantly full.
